Los Angeles, CA. — A 68-year-old man was killed Monday night after a suspected DUI driver ran a red light and struck his vehicle at the intersection of West 76th Street and Broadway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The collision occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m., when the victim—who was driving a Toyota Camry eastbound on 76th —entered the intersection on a green light, investigators said.
A driver of a Chevrolet going southbound on Broadway allegedly ran a red light and crashed into the sedan.
Emergency crews transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His name has not yet been released.
LAPD officers said the driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
