Ventura, CA. – A 44-year-old cyclist was left in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle on Callens Road in Ventura Wednesday afternoon, authorities reported.
The collision occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Callens Road.
Responding officers found the cyclist unconscious with serious injuries.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. He was listed in critical condition.
Investigators said the driver of the car, a 30-year-old man, was heading south on Callens Road when he turned in front of the northbound cyclist, violating his right of way.
The driver stopped immediately after the collision and remained at the scene.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
