A driver was speeding in the area when he struck a skateboard rider and a bicyclist crossing the street from the south side to the north

Tacoma, WA.- Three people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision in Tacoma on Monday afternoon.
According to a report by the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, the accident was reported at around 2 p.m. on 96th Street South.
A driver was speeding in the area when he struck a skateboard rider and a bicyclist crossing the street from the south side to the north.
The driver then overcorrected and collided head-on with another vehicle.
The bicyclist was hospitalized with critical injuries.
The skateboard rider was unhurt in the incident.
A woman and a 1-year-old child in the vehicle that was hit head-on were both hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver who caused the accident was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation.
