San Diego, CA. – A 21-year-old passenger was killed, and a 20-year-old driver was arrested after a DUI crash early Wednesday morning on State Route 54 in San Diego.
The crash happened around 12:54 a.m. on the eastbound SR-54, east of Highland Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities said a white Nissan veered off the roadway into a reverse gore point, hit a stationary sign, and went down a dirt embankment.
A 21-year-old woman riding as a passenger in the car was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.
The driver, a 20-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
