Everett, WA.- Two people suffered major injuries in a crash involving one vehicle near Everett on Wednesday afternoon, according to Washington State Patrol.
Shortly after 12:01 p.m., authorities responded to reports of a crash on State Route 2 at a trestle overpass.
A vehicle traveling eastbound reportedly went off the roadway and overturned down the trestle.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and worked to put out a vehicle fire sparked by the crash.
The two occupants of the vehicle were transported to a hospital with critical injuries.
The westbound lanes of SR 2 were temporarily shut down as authorities examined and cleared the scene.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the WSP.
