Wilmington, CA.- Two men were injured in a car accident in Wilmington early Saturday morning, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The wreck occurred at the train crossing at 800 N. Alameda Street and East Anaheim Street shortly before 1 a.m.
A 34-year-old man reportedly crashed into a train-crossing signal at the Pacific Harbor Line.
The driver was pinned in the vehicle and was extricated by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
He was transported to a hospital with critical injuries.
A passenger in the car, a 35-year-old man, was also hospitalized with serious injuries.
The incident caused the closure of the train tracks as authorities worked to clear the scene.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
