Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested After Double Fatal Collision at Westlake Intersection

, CA. – Two people died, and at least four others were injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Sunday afternoon in Westlake, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

A hit-and-run suspect was arrested after the crash that happened around 12:20 p.m. at Olympic Boulevard and Union Avenue.

According to LAPD, four vehicles, including a black Alfa Romeo, were involved in the collision.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the area and found two people trapped in the wreckage with severe injuries.

The patients were extricated and taken to the hospital in critical condition. One of the victims was not conscious or breathing.

Both patients were later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Another two patients were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Reportedly, two more people walked away from the scene with what appeared to be minor injuries.

Police officers said one of the drivers involved in the crash walked away but was found and arrested shortly after. The driver is suspected of driving under the influence. That driver was hospitalized with unknown injuries.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
