CHP said an 80-year-old Santa Cruz man was riding an e-bike on the right shoulder of Opal Cliff Drive when he collided with an 82-year-old Santa Cruz woman walking eastbound
Santa Cruz County, CA.- Two people were injured in a collision involving a pedestrian in Santa Cruz County on Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred on Opal Cliff Drive, east of Court Drive at around 5:50 a.m. September 27.
CHP said an 80-year-old Santa Cruz man was riding an e-bike on the right shoulder of Opal Cliff Drive when he collided with an 82-year-old Santa Cruz woman walking eastbound.
The woman was flown to Valley Medical Center with major injuries.
The bike rider was transported by ambulance to Dominican Hospital with unspecified injuries.
CHP said alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The crash remained under investigation.
