Yucca Valley, CA – Two people were injured Saturday afternoon in a dirt bike accident in Yucca Valley, according to the CHP.

The accident happened around 1:48 p.m. on September 20 on Aberdeen Drive near Balsa Avenue.

CHP said an underage rider was operating a 2002 Honda dirt bike and was carrying an 18-year-old passenger. The dirt bike failed to yield the right of way and drove into the path of a gray 2019 Cadillac XT5, resulting in a collision.

Both the rider of the dirt bike and the passenger were ejected. The rider sustained minor injuries, while the passenger sustained major but non-life-threatening injuries. Both victims were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center.

The location of the accident is a prohibited area for Off-Road vehicle use.

The CHP is investigating the accident.
