Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate both drivers from the vehicles.

Aguanga, CA. – Two people were critically injured in a collision that happened near Aguanga on Thursday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 12:30 p.m. on State Route 371 just east of Puckit Drive, near the Cahuilla Indian Reservation.
A red Toyota Corolla was traveling toward Indio on SR-371 when it collided with a white Chevy Impala, traveling southbound.
Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate both drivers from the vehicles.
One driver was airlifted to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, the other was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
Alcohol was ruled out as a factor in the accident.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
