Police said a car was traveling northbound on Alma School Road when it failed to stop for a red light and collided with a vehicle heading westbound on University Drive
Mesa, AZ.- Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Saturday night in Mesa, according to the Mesa Police Department.
The wreck took place on Alma School Road and University Drive at about 6 p.m. November 23.
Police said a car was traveling northbound on Alma School Road when it failed to stop for a red light and collided with a vehicle heading westbound on University Drive.
At least one of the vehicles also struck a vehicle that was waiting to make a turn at the intersection.
The driver who ran the red light and two passengers in the second vehicle were transported to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.
One of the passengers reportedly had major injuries.
DUI is suspected to have played a role in the incident, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
