According to a preliminary investigation, a 35-year-old Manteca man was driving a gray 2020 Volvo pulling a trailer northbound on Road 9 when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Avenue 25

Madera County, CA.- Two people were injured in a crash between two vehicles in Madera County early Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened on Avenue 25 and Road 9 at around 4:37 a.m. October 8.
According to a preliminary investigation, a 35-year-old Manteca man was driving a gray 2020 Volvo pulling a trailer northbound on Road 9 when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Avenue 25.
The Volvo entered the intersection directly into the path of a gray Toyota Corolla traveling eastbound and was struck on its left side.
The Toyota became pinned under the Volvo’s trailer following the accident.
The Toyota driver, a 38-year-old El Nido woman, and her passenger, a 22-year-old El Nido man, were both taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno with major injuries.
The driver of the Volvo was not injured.
The CHP reported that impairment was not believed to have been a factor in the incident.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
