Fresno, CA. – Two drivers were hospitalized after a fiery collision that happened Tuesday morning in Fresno.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pileup transpired around 9:15 a.m. on Highway 99 at Herndon Avenue.
Authorities said a big rig was stopped for a crash that had happened earlier when two other vehicles – a sedan and a truck – that were traveling behind the semi-truck did not notice on time that it was stopped.
Both vehicles braked, but still ended up slamming into the stopped big rig.
The impact caused the truck and the sedan to catch fire, which also burned the trailer of the semi-truck.
The drivers of the sedan and the truck were able to get out of the burning vehicles.
They were both hospitalized with minor to moderate injuries.
The driver of the big rig was not hurt.
An investigation is ongoing.
