Mead, WA – The Spokane County Sheriff's Office is investigating a car crash that left a 17-year-old passenger with severe injuries near Doak Road in Mead Sunday afternoon.

The wreck occurred at around 4:30 p.m. January 5 near Doak Road and Argonne Road.

Reportedly, 56-year-old Raymond Jones was driving a northbound Ford F-150 when for unknown reasons Jones crossed the centerline near the intersection with Doak Road and collided nearly head-on with a southbound car carrying three occupants, two adults and a teenager.

The 17-year-old passenger suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Jones was booked into the Spokane County Jail on suspicion of vehicular assault.

No further details regarding the mishap were available.

An investigation is underway.
