El Cajon, CA. – A 12-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday night in El Cajon, according to the El Cajon Police Department.

Officers and paramedics arrived to find the child in the roadway with major head injuries.
The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
The driver did not stop after the crash.
Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a white or silver SUV with front-end damage.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the driver to contact El Cajon PD.
The accident remains under investigation.
