A man driving a Toyota Corolla on Caughlin Road was involved in a collision with the off-road vehicle for unknown reasons
Phelan, CA.- One person was killed and several others were injured in an accident involving a Can-Am in Phelan on Friday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck took place on Caughlin Road just north of Dos Palmas Road at about 6:38 p.m. August 29.
A man driving a Toyota Corolla on Caughlin Road was involved in a collision with the off-road vehicle for unknown reasons.
A male occupant of the Can-Am was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
A second male occupant of the off-road vehicle was transported to the hospital with less severe injuries.
One of the two female passengers in the Toyota was also transported to the hospital.
The driver of the Toyota was arrested on suspicion of DUI following the incident.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
