A white car was traveling on southbound I-5 when it left the roadway and slammed into a tree

San Diego, CA.- One person was killed in a car accident that took place in San Diego on Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Interstate 5 at the Tocayo Avenue off-ramp just before 5:50 p.m. August 29.
A white car was traveling on southbound I-5 when it left the roadway and slammed into a tree.
The car came to a rest nearly 60 feet off the roadway and was engulfed in flames.
The flames also spread into dry brush in the area.
One person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The off-ramp was shut down for hours as crews worked at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
