Visalia, CA.- One person was killed in a head-on collision near Visalia on Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash that occurred at about 8:30 a.m. in the area of Avenue 280 and Shirk Road.
According to the report, a man driving a Honda Accord westbound on Avenue 280, for unknown reasons, traveled into the eastbound side and collided head-on with an oncoming GMC Sierra.
The driver of the Honda, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died in the accident.
The other driver declined medical attention.
According to the CHP, alcohol and/or drugs are suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
