Bakersfield, CA. – A bicyclist died after being struck by a car on Friday morning in Bakersfield.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the accident happened around 10 a.m. at the intersection of 4th Street and Union Avenue.
The bicyclist reportedly failed to stop for a red light while traveling westbound on 4th Street and was struck at the intersection.
The bicyclist was taken to the hospital by emergency crews.
Police say the bicyclist later died while receiving treatment.
