The 22-year-old Redding man driving the Nissan was killed in the accident.

Anderson, CA. – One person was killed in a head-on collision that left two others injured in Anderson on Friday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 11:45 p.m. on Dersch Road west of Mossom Lane.

A Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east on Dersch Road when it crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a Nissan Xterra.

The crash sent both vehicles off the roadway, and the Nissan caught fire.

The 22-year-old Redding man driving the Nissan was killed in the accident.

A 15-year-old Redding boy who was riding in the Nissan suffered a broken wrist and clavicle.

The Silverado’s driver, 23-year-old Onyz Young of Redding, suffered a broken leg and was arrested.

Investigators believe alcohol and drugs were factors in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
