Los Angeles, CA. – At least one person died, and several others were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle accident that happened Sunday night in the Shadow Hills area of Los Angeles.
According to the California Highway Patrol logs, the pileup was reported around 7:53 p.m. on the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway, just east of the Sunland Boulevard off-ramp.
Six vehicles were involved in the collision. At least one of the cars was reportedly driving recklessly, getting in and out of lanes and cutting off other motorists prior to the crash.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and shut down all the westbound lanes.
At least one person died in the accident.
Three patients were transported to the hospital with serious injuries, two others were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, and one declined transportation.
One of the victims was trapped inside their car after the crash.
Authorities are investigating the accident.

Impaired driving and speeding remain primary factors in many serious and fatal crashes across the state and in Los Angeles. Pedestrians are particularly vulnerable, accounting for over one-third of traffic deaths in the county.
