Tempe, AZ – One person was killed and four others injured in a two-vehicle collision on Eliot Road in Tempe late Tuesday night.
The Tempe Police Department responded to the deadly accident at around 11:30 p.m. on Elliot Road at Interstate 10 overpass.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a westbound car suffered a medical emergency, crossed the center, and collided with an eastbound car.
The westbound driver was pronounced dead at the scene and their passenger suffered minor injuries.
The driver and two passengers in the other vehicle had serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The injured victims were all taken to the hospital for treatment.
Speed and impairment were not believed to be factors.
This incident remains under investigation.
