Ventura County, CA – One person was killed and another was injured Sunday evening in a head-on collision in Ventura County east of Fillmore, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision happened around 7:47 p.m. on August 3 on Highway 126.
CHP said a vehicle was traveling westbound when it crossed over into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into another vehicle.
One of the vehicles went down an embankment and landed on the southbound side of the highway.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.
The other driver was taken to the hospital with major injuries.
The collision closed several lanes of the highway.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
