According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 8:36 p.m. at Slover Avenue and Cedar Avenue.
A white pickup truck and a gray 4-door sedan were involved in the collision.
The pickup truck was left blocking lanes, and the sedan hit a pole on the sidewalk.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and administered CPR to a passenger of one of the vehicles.
A driver of one of the cars was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The report said one person died in the crash, but did not give extra details.
The vehicles were towed away from the scene.
An investigation into the wreck is ongoing.
