Los Angeles, CA – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident in Highland Park Monday night, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The deadly accident happened at around 8:30 p.m. on October 20 on the Arroyo Seco (110) Parkway near Highland Park.
According to OSP, officers were pursuing a man accused of driving a stolen car in downtown Los Angeles.
The suspect entered the Arroyo Seco Parkway in Chinatown and then stopped near the Avenue 43 exit on the northbound freeway. While climbing out of the car window, he was struck by traffic on the opposite side of the freeway.
The suspect died at the scene.
Authorities closed the freeway for several hours to allow on-scene investigations.
