El Cajon, CA – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on Saturday afternoon in El Cajon, according to the El Cajon Police Department.
The accident occurred on E. Main Street on Saturday, October 24.
According to initial reports, a man was lying in the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle.
Emergency crews arrived shortly after and rushed the pedestrian to a hospital. The victim was declared deceased at the hospital.
The victim’s identity was not immediately released by the authorities.
The driver, who stayed at the scene after the collision, was cooperative with law enforcement.
According to police, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs was not believed to have been a factor in the incident.
