Chino, CA – 87-Year-Old Woman Dies After Mobility Scooter Crash on Central Avenue

Chino, CA – An elderly woman was killed in a crash involving a mobility scooter and a vehicle in Chino on Thursday afternoon, according to the Chino Police Department.

The collision occurred just before 4:05 p.m. on October 8, 2026, in the 11600 block of Central Avenue.

Authorities said an 87-year-old woman was riding a mobility scooter when she was hit by a vehicle.

She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Authorities have not released her name.

Police identified the driver as 32-year-old Zhang Huiyaen of Chino. Investigators said there is currently no suspicion that the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The circumstances surrounding the fatal collision remain under investigation.
