Oxnard, CA – Four people were injured, at least one seriously, in a two-vehicle crash at an intersection in Oxnard on Friday afternoon.
The crash occurred around 1:38 p.m. on October 9, 2026, at Casper Road and East Hueneme Road, and involved a semi-truck and an SUV.
Both vehicles left the roadway and ended up in a nearby field, and the SUV sustained significant damage.
Firefighters used specialized rescue equipment, commonly known as the jaws of life, to free the SUV driver, who was trapped inside the heavily damaged vehicle.
According to the CHP, a woman was found lying in the roadway following the crash. Four patients were reported, and three ambulance transports were indicated. At least one of the patients had major injuries.
Preliminary information suggested the SUV may have been turning left from Casper Road onto westbound East Hueneme Road and entered the path of the approaching semi-truck, leading to the collision.
