San Rafael, CA – Minor Injuries Reported in 3-Vehicle Accident on Highway 101

San Rafael, CA – A Friday night collision on Highway 101 in San Rafael resulted in minor injuries, authorities reported.

The pileup occurred around 10:36 p.m. on October 2, 2026, on northbound Highway 101, just south of Interstate 580.

According to CHP logs, a blue 2020 BMW SUV, a Toyota, and a third vehicle were involved in the accident.

One of the vehicles was occupied by children. The juveniles were crying inside the car after the crash.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene shortly after the collision and offered medical aid to an unknown number of people who sustained minor injuries.

About three traffic lanes were blocked for an unknown period following the accident.

CHP is investigating the accident.
