East Palo Alto, CA – 2 Killed, 3 Injured in 7-Vehicle Crash on Bay Road

East Palo Alto, CA – Two people were killed and at least three others were injured Tuesday morning in a multi-vehicle wreck on Bay Road in East Palo Alto.

The crash happened at approximately 8:20 a.m. near the intersection of Bay Road and University Avenue, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said the minivan struck six vehicles, including a SamTrans Ride Plus van.

The man operating the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman who was a passenger in the minivan was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

At least three other people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the seven-vehicle crash.

Investigators are still determining the cause of the collision.
