Authorities reported that Edward Aruja, 32, of Vancouver, was riding a Yamaha motorcycle at a high rate of speed northbound on SR 503 when he drifted into the southbound side and collided head-on with an oncoming Subaru Crosstrek.
Cowlitz County, WA – Three people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday evening in Cowlitz County.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident took place on Highway 503 near Cape Horn Creek shortly before 5:30 p.m. September 26.
Authorities reported that Edward Aruja, 32, of Vancouver, was riding a Yamaha motorcycle at a high rate of speed northbound on SR 503 when he drifted into the southbound side and collided head-on with an oncoming Subaru Crosstrek.
Aruja sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. Authorities reported that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The two occupants of the Subaru, both from Cougar, were transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to investigators, charges against Aruja are pending. The WSP is still investigating the accident.
