The crash occurred at approximately 8:21 p.m. on September 19, 2026, near milepost 122 of Highway 101, close to Gleneden Beach.
Lincoln County, OR – A 41-year-old Portland man was killed Saturday night after being struck by three vehicles on Highway 101 in Lincoln County, according to Oregon State Police.
The deceased pedestrian was identified as Nicholas Ryan Perkins, 41, of Portland.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:21 p.m. on September 19, 2026, near milepost 122 of Highway 101, close to Gleneden Beach.
The preliminary investigation found that a gray Chevrolet Colorado was traveling southbound when it struck Perkins. Police say Perkins was in or near the vehicle’s lane. A southbound white Mercedes Sprinter van and a northbound blue Toyota Sequoia subsequently struck Perkins.
Perkins was pronounced dead at the scene. None of the three drivers was injured.
The Mercedes Sprinter driver, Gregory Lear Miller, 34, of Flagstaff, Arizona, was stopped south of the crash scene and taken into custody for failing to perform the duties of a driver.
OSP had also received reports of a person walking in the roadway before the collision.
Oregon State Police responded with assistance from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Lincoln City Police Department, Depoe Bay Fire District, Pacific West Ambulance and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Highway 101 was affected for approximately four hours while investigators worked at the scene.
Investigators are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
