Concord, CA – A motorcyclist was killed Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle collision on westbound Highway 4 near Concord, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at approximately 3:06 p.m. on Monday on westbound Highway 4 east of Port Chicago Highway.
The collision involved a motorcycle, a truck and a sedan. The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP said the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
Authorities have not released information about what led to the three-vehicle crash. The crash caused significant traffic disruption on westbound Highway 4 as lanes were blocked for several hours while emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene. All lanes were reopened shortly after 6:30 p.m.
The fatal Concord crash remains under investigation.
