Authorities reported that a man was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Catalina Boulevard when he collided with an eastbound 2016 Jeep Patriot that drifted into his path.

San Diego, CA – A motorcycle rider was killed in a collision with a vehicle on Wednesday afternoon in the Sunset Cliffs area.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the wreck happened on Catalina Boulevard and Varona Street just after noon on Wednesday, September 16.

Authorities reported that a man was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Catalina Boulevard when he collided with an eastbound 2016 Jeep Patriot that drifted into his path.

The motorcyclist was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The victim’s identity was not released pending notification of the next of kin.

According to investigators, impairment was not suspected to have played a role in the incident.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation by the San Diego Police Department.
