Initial reports show that a logging truck was heading east on SR 530 when it crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming vehicle.
Arlington, WA – At least one person was killed in a crash that involved a logging truck on Monday morning near Arlington.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the wreck happened on State Route 530, just south of 294th Street NE, shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Monday, September 14.
Initial reports show that a logging truck was heading east on SR 530 when it crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming vehicle.
Emergency crews responded to the site of the accident and worked to extricate a trapped person from one of the vehicles.
According to investigators, the driver of the second vehicle died at a hospital. She was only identified as a 28-year-old Arlington woman.
It’s unclear whether anyone else sustained any injuries in the incident.
Both directions of SR 530 were shut down for hours as crews worked to clear debris from the scene.
The cause of the accident remained under investigation by the Washington State Patrol.
