Preliminary reports indicate that the motorcyclist was riding southbound on SR 397 when they crashed into a vehicle that failed to yield while making a left turn.

Benton County, WA – Authorities are investigating a deadly crash that claimed the life of a motorcycle rider in Benton County on Saturday night.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the wreck happened at around 8:20 p.m. September 12, on State Route 397 near milepost 14.
Preliminary reports indicate that the motorcyclist was riding southbound on SR 397 when they crashed into a vehicle that failed to yield while making a left turn.
The motorcyclist was declared deceased at the site of the collision. According to authorities, the victim was a 36-year-old Kennewick resident but their name was not immediately released.
A 22-year-old woman riding as a passenger on the motorcycle was transported to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The driver of the involved vehicle and their passenger were both unharmed in the crash.
According to WSP, alcohol and drugs were not believed to have factored in the incident.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
