Los Angeles, CA – A pedestrian was killed early Saturday morning after being struck by a vehicle on an Interstate 10 off-ramp in Los Angeles, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash was reported at approximately 6:28 a.m. on eastbound I-10 at the Alameda Street off-ramp

Investigators said a green Toyota Sienna struck a female pedestrian near the off-ramp. The driver remained inside the vehicle following the crash. CHP later reported that all lanes on the off-ramp were stopped as emergency crews responded. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP requested the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office to respond to the location.

A SigAlert was issued for the eastbound I-10 at Alameda Street off-ramp, with the initial closure expected to last approximately two hours.

The circumstances surrounding the crash, including what led to the pedestrian being in the roadway, were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
