The Fresno man was riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on North Avenue near Minnewawa Avenue when, around 9 p.m. on September 7, 2026, he collided with a trailer being pulled by a bicyclist.
The cyclist was traveling in the dark without any lights, which made it hard for Hansen to see the trailer and the bicycle.
Hansen died at the hospital, where he was taken for treatment.

Fresno County, CA – A motorcyclist died after crashing into a cart being pulled by a bicycle in the dark Monday night in Fresno County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place around 8:55 p.m. on September 7, 2026, on North Avenue, just west of Minnewawa Avenue.
Investigators said a person was riding a bicycle eastbound in the westbound lane of North Avenue while pulling a cart in the dark.
Authorities said another person was, at the same time, riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound when they slammed into the cart, and the bike went down.
The motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital, where they later died.
The cyclist was not hit or hurt.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
