The incident happened at approximately 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2026, on Highway 20 near milepost 10.
Lincoln County, OR – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 20 in Lincoln County late Wednesday night, according to the Oregon State Police (OSP).
OSP identified the deceased pedestrian as Cordaro Ryan Stock, a 34-year-old Toledo man.
The incident happened at approximately 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2026, on Highway 20 near milepost 10.
According to the preliminary investigation, 19-year-old Orion David Sliwka of Salem was driving a beige 1996 Acura Integra westbound on Highway 20 when he struck what he initially believed was a deer.
Sliwka continued westbound before eventually stopping at a business in Newport. Sliwka and his passenger were at the business when another person spoke with them and learned they may have struck a person. The second party then called 911.
The Toledo Police Department found Stock in a ditch near milepost 10.
No arrests were reported. Sliwka cooperated with investigating law enforcement.
Investigators are still looking into the circumstances of the crash, including how the Acura struck Stock after the driver initially believed he had hit a deer.
Highway 20 was impacted for approximately six hours while authorities conducted the on-scene investigation.
The fatal Lincoln County crash remains under investigation.
