Van Nuys, CA – A California Highway Patrol officer and a civilian were injured in a traffic collision that took place in Van Nuys early Monday morning.

According to the authorities, the accident transpired at around 2:57 a.m. August 24, on Tyrone Avenue and Oxnard Street.

Investigators reported that a CHP SUV and a Honda sedan collided at the intersection. The impact pushed the SUV off the roadway and it crashed into a building.

The CHP officer and the vicilian driver were both taken to hospitals with complaints of pain.

The exact circumstances under which the vehicles collided were yet to be established. Both vehicles sustained front-end damage as a result of the crash.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
