Adelanto, CA – Woman Hit, Killed by Vehicle on Highway 395 near Palmdale Road

Preliminary reports indicate that a woman was struck by a Ford Mustang in the southbound lanes of US 395.

Adelanto, CA – A woman was hit and killed by a vehicle on Highway 395 in Adelanto on Friday night, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

The accident was reported at around 8:55 p.m. August 21, near Palmdale Road.

Preliminary reports indicate that a woman was struck by a Ford Mustang in the southbound lanes of US 395. Authorities were still working to ascertain the circumstances of the collision.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after and located the pedestrian down in the roadway.

The victim was declared deceased at the scene. She was identified as Mary F. Handford, 60, of Apple Valley.

The driver of the Ford stayed at the scene after the accident.

Additional information was not released and the cause of the accident remained under investigation.
