Maricopa County, AZ – A teenage e-bike rider who was hit and severely injured by a vehicle at an intersection in Maricopa County on Monday evening later died at a hospital.
According to a report by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department, the wreck took place near Bethany Home Road and 185th Avenue at around 8 p.m. Monday, August 17.
A driver reportedly hit a 13-year-old boy riding an e-bike in the area. The exact circumstances of the collision were still being investigated.
According to the MCSO, the victim was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced deceased.
It’s unclear whether the driver of the involved car was hurt.
There were no further details on the crash. The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department is still working to determine the cause of the deadly accident.
