Hawthorne, CA – One Person Killed in Motorcycle Accident on I-405

Hawthorne, CA – One person was killed in a motorcycle collision that happened Thursday afternoon on Interstate 405 in Hawthorne, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident took place around 4:24 p.m. on the southbound I-405 just north of West El Segundo Boulevard.

A motorcycle and a red Honda CR-V were involved in the collision.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and blocked the Nos. 1, 2, 3, and HOV lanes.

One person was killed in the accident. The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner responded to the scene following the fatality.

Details about the cause and manner of the accident were not available.

The motorcycle was towed away from the scene.

All lanes were back open by 8:09 p.m.

CHP officers are investigating the collision.
