According to CHP, two big rigs collided on SR 86 and one of the rigs rolled over as a result of the accident.
Thermal, CA – One person was hurt in a collision involving big rigs near Thermal early Thursday morning, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened on State Route 86 near Airport Boulevard at around 5:20 a.m. July 30.
According to CHP, two big rigs collided on SR 86 and one of the rigs rolled over as a result of the accident. The rollover rig spilled debris on the roadway and the two vehicles blocked multiple lanes of the highway.
CHP and emergency crews responded to the site of the collision shortly after and rendered aid to those involved.
After evaluation, at least one person was taken to a hospital with injuries to their back or neck. There was no update on the extent of injuries sustained in the collision.
No additional information on the crash was immediately provided.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by th California Highway Patrol.
