Preliminary reports indicate that a man was driving a northbound Chevrolet that got into a collision with a big rig on the freeway

Pico Rivera, CA – One person was killed in a collision with a big rig on the 605 Freeway in the Pico Rivera neighborhood early Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At around 2:20 a.m. July 24, authorities responded to reports of a crash on the northbound freeway near Beverly Boulevard.
Preliminary reports indicate that a man was driving a northbound Chevrolet that got into a collision with a big rig on the freeway. The exact circumstances under which the crash occurred were not immediately available.
The impact of the crash caused the Chevrolet to roll onto its side.
According to the CHP, the driver of the Chevrolet was declared deceased at the scene. His identity was not immediately released.
All northbound lanes of the freeway were shut down following the accident and traffic was diverted onto Beverly Boulevard.
