Phoenix, AZ – One person was severely injured in a crash involving multiple vehicles early Thursday morning in west Phoenix.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the wreck happened at about 3:15 a.m. on July 23, at 43rd Avenue and Claremont Street.
Authorities reported that at least two vehicles were involved in the collision, whose cause was not immediately established.
Debris from the collision was scattered across the intersection and one of the vehicles ended up in the front yard of a home.
A driver was ejected from one of the vehicles and sustained critical injuries. The man was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
A woman was reportedly taken into custody at the site of the accident. Details on what charges she may be facing were not immediately released.
The intersection was temporarily blocked as authorities investigated the incident and crews cleared debris from the scene.
The Phoenix Police Department is still working to determine the cause of the collision.
