Oakland, CA – A 45-year-old man died after he was struck by a dump truck Tuesday evening near an intersection in Oakland, the Oakland Police Department reported.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on July 14, 2026, near High Street and Coliseum Way.
Oakland police and firefighters responded to the scene and found the man with injuries after being struck by a dump truck.
The firefighters attempted life-saving measures, but the man died from the injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the dump truck was traveling southbound on High Street and turned eastbound onto Coliseum Way.
At the same time, the pedestrian was crossing northbound on Coliseum Way from the east side of High Street. The pedestrian was struck by the truck.
OPD’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.
