El Mirage, AZ – Four people, including a sheriff’s deputy, were sent to the hospital after a collision involving a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office patrol car that happened late Thursday night near El Mirage.
According to MCSO, the wreck occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on July 9, 2026, near Grand Avenue and Santa Fe Lane.
A sheriff’s deputy’s truck and a civilian vehicle were involved in the accident.
Emergency personnel responded and transported the deputy and three other occupants in the civilian car to the hospital with unspecified injuries. All the patients are expected to recover.
The patrol vehicle acquired front-end damage, and the other car sustained heavy rear-end damage.
Investigators closed Grand Avenue for several hours into early Friday morning during the investigation.
