Kearny Mesa, CA – A 36-year-old man died after he was struck by a van early Monday morning in Kearny Mesa, the San Diego Police Department reported.
The accident occurred around 1:20 a.m. on July 6, 2026, in the 7300 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard near Ruffner Street.
According to officers, the man was crossing Clairemont Mesa Boulevard mid-block when he was hit by a 2010 Volkswagen Routan van driven by a 42-year-old woman.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be contributing factors.
