Preliminary reports indicate that Casey was driving a Toyota Camry south on Highway 101 when he clipped the rear of a white Honda Accord.
San Francisco, CA – The man who was killed in a vehicle collision near San Francisco International Airport on Thursday evening has been identified by the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office.
Alan Casey, 28, died following the crash that happened on Highway 101 near Millbrae Avenue shortly before 7 p.m. on July 2.
Preliminary reports indicate that Casey was driving a Toyota Camry south on Highway 101 when he clipped the rear of a white Honda Accord.
The impact of the crash caused the Toyota to flip and Casey was ejected from the vehicle.
Emergency crews arrived within minutes and found Casey with major injuries. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared deceased.
The two occupants of the Honda were not injured and stayed at the scene of the accident.
Four lanes of the highway were shut down as authorities investigated the accident.
The cause of the collision remained under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
